revisi\u00f3n y aplicaci\u00f3n de la literatura acerca de los modelos intermitentes de ayuno.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El ayuno se puede definir como la abstinencia voluntaria o la reducci\u00f3n de algunos o todos los alimentos, bebidas, o ambos, por un per\u00edodo que dura entre 12 horas a 3 semanas, ya sea a corto plazo, a largo plazo\/prolongado o intermitente.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cada vez ha ganado m\u00e1s popularidad y se ha investigado como una posible intervenci\u00f3n no farmacol\u00f3gica para mejorar la salud y aumentar la longevidad. El ayuno intermitente incluye varias pr\u00e1cticas, y los protocolos de los estudios var\u00edan ampliamente, con per\u00edodos alternos de alimentaci\u00f3n y per\u00edodos de ayuno que pueden llegar hasta las 24 h de uno a cuatro d\u00edas a la semana (1). Algunos de los modelos de ayuno son:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Ayuno intermitente:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Este patr\u00f3n de alimentaci\u00f3n implica ayunar durante per\u00edodos de tiempo variables, por lo general durante 12 h o m\u00e1s.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Alimentaci\u00f3n restringida en el tiempo:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Este patr\u00f3n de alimentaci\u00f3n implica restringir la ingesta de alimentos a per\u00edodos de tiempo espec\u00edficos del d\u00eda, t\u00edpicamente entre 8 y 12 h cada d\u00eda.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Ayuno en d\u00edas alternos:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Este patr\u00f3n de alimentaci\u00f3n implica no consumir calor\u00edas en los d\u00edas de ayuno y alternar los d\u00edas de ayuno con un d\u00eda de ingesta de alimentos sin restricciones o d\u00eda de \u201cfiesta\u201d.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Ayuno modificado en d\u00edas alternos: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Este patr\u00f3n de alimentaci\u00f3n implica consumir menos del 25% de las necesidades energ\u00e9ticas de referencia en los d\u00edas de &#8220;ayuno&#8221;, alternados con un d\u00eda de ingesta de alimentos sin restricciones o d\u00eda de &#8220;fiesta&#8221;.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><b>Ayuno peri\u00f3dico:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Este patr\u00f3n alimentario consiste en ayunar solo 1 o 2 variables para desarrollar enfoques que capturen los beneficios para la salud, pero sin su problema de baja adhesi\u00f3n.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Se han desarrollado m\u00faltiples modelos de ayuno intermitente para interactuar con nuestro sistema circadiano y se han informado mejoras metab\u00f3licas significativas con las intervenciones de ayuno intermitente, como la reducci\u00f3n del peso corporal y la masa grasa, la disminuci\u00f3n de la glucosa en sangre y la mejora de la sensibilidad a la insulina, tanto en estudios a corto como a largo plazo en
